CANY systematically compiles data on the state prisons and is now releasing relevant data to the public in the form of dashboards, processed data, and source data. The datasets below include statistical data on incarcerated individuals under custody, unusual incidents, and deaths in custody. We will add additional data here throughout the year. By making this data public, policymakers, advocates, and the family and friends of the people living in and working in prisons can gain a better understanding of the circumstances of incarceration in New York’s prisons.
