Director

Sumeet is the Director of the Policy and Communications Team. He has extensive experience in state government. Before joining CANY, Sumeet served as a Chief of Staff in the NYS Assembly and as a communications professional for justice-focused campaigns. Recently, Sumeet completed the "Leadership Fellows at The Trust," a leadership development program for nonprofit leaders at Baruch College. Previously, he was selected to join the CUNY Institute of State and Local Governance as part of the inaugural class of the Kriegel Fellowship for Public Service Leaders, completing the program in 2020. Sumeet earned a BA from the University of Vermont.
