Director

Michelle a Director at CANY who leads efforts to develop CANY’s archival records. She has extensive experience as an educator, author, collaborator, artist, and subject matter expert who has focused on developing initiatives to reduce harm and end mass incarceration. Michelle is the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships. She previously served on CANY’s Board of Directors before joining the staff. Michelle earned a Ph.D. in the American studies program at New York University; her dissertation focused on creative liberation strategies of incarcerated people.
